GroupOrder Hub is a comprehensive web platform intended to streamline group order management in various settings such as organizations, businesses, schools, and communities. The platform offers a structured approach for handling product catalogs, orders, users, and group coordinators. Initially created in Italian, the project was later translated into English to reach a wider audience, with all technical documentation and code comments in English.
The platform features a robust authentication and authorization system with secure Passport.js sessions, enabling different access levels: Product/Order Administrator, User Administrator, Group Coordinator, and Standard User. Product management allows administrators to manage a detailed catalog with various categories like food and beverages and supports full CRUD operations.
The order system integrates a dynamic cart with local data persistence and administrators can oversee all orders, modifying statuses and accessing detailed views. User and group management offer complete user CRUD capabilities and custom group handling with centralized persistence. The Coordinator Dashboard provides group-specific order statistics.
The platform utilizes a modern technology stack, including React 18 with TypeScript for the frontend and Node.js with Express for the backend. It supports deployment environments like Render and Replit, with structured database management via PostgreSQL and Drizzle ORM.
Demonstrations are available with protective limitations to maintain demo security. The project ensures flexibility and ease of customization in branding, product categories, roles, and UI, making it suitable for diverse use cases from corporate cafeterias to educational institutions. Although post-sale support is not provided, the project is thoroughly documented to aid further development. The system is designed to be scalable and secure, ensuring robust and responsive performance across devices.
