When we introduced our new listing process a few weeks ago, we made one major change that proved to be very unpopular: we stopped allowing edits to the listing description once the listing was live.
Today, we’re bringing back the limited ability to edit live listings.
Why We Limited Edits
One of the main confusions stemming from managing a listing was determining when a seller could and could not edit their listing. While our policy (to allow edits in the description up until the first bid has been placed) was clear to most regular sellers, it confused newcomers to Flippa and occasional sellers.
In restricting the ability to edit live listings, we also aimed for a higher quality in listings across the board by asking sellers to thoroughly review their listing before it went live for omissions and typos. We didn’t anticipate the amount of new information sellers would want to add to their listing once a2 listing is live.
Why We’re Bringing Edits Back
A few weeks post-launch, it’s clear: sellers want to be able to make small adjustments to their listing for as long as possible. While we can’t allow sellers to modify the description once a bid has been placed, we’re happy to bring back a limited edit function to live listings.
To edit your listing title or description, click on the User Settings menu at the top of your listing, and select “Change Title and Description”.

Some Things Don’t Change
In the interest of presenting accurate listings to all potential buyers, some things can’t be edited: this includes revenue and traffic data, as well as tags and, of course, the domain or website up for sale.
