Today we launched a new-look Flippa auction listing page. TA-DAAA!

Before you run off to admire the shiny new live version that’s operating right now on all our auction pages, stay with me, I’ll explain some of the method to our madness.

Flippa Website Auction Page

More Space For Stats

One of the main reasons for the redesign was so we could add more stats.  We’re always stressing that buyers should do their website due diligence before placing a bid, so we like to give you as much information as we can to help (pssst – we’ll be adding even more soon!).

We’ve also been adding bits and pieces to the auction page for some time now so decided it was time to re-organise, re-prioritize, and generally clean up the place a bit.

SEMrush.com keyword stats have also been added. SEMrush provides some great information about what keywords a website is ranking for and the approximate traffic the site should be receiving via these keyword rankings.

Factual Information First

Usability testing on the old Auction page with the help of Clicktale, told us that the most important information to potential buyers is the site’s stats. Specifically information such as PageRank, Alexa Rank, Yahoo links and Google Links is of primary importance. So with this in mind, instead of making people scroll down the page, we’ve placed these details towards the top.

Easier to Bid

The Bid and Buy It Now buttons have been made more prominent. We’re big fans of usability (in case you hadn’t guessed already) and given the sole purpose of Flippa is to help people buy and sell websites, we’ve made it easier for people to find the Bid and Buy It Now buttons on auctions.

Social Media Buttons

Now you can promote your auction with the addition of Twitter and Facebook buttons or share other auctions with Twitter and Facebook followers and friends.
