New to Flippa? Not sure where to begin?
You’re not alone. In fact, since so many new visitors come here every day, we’ve built a special tool to help you get a feel for Flippa. In this article, I’ll show you how easy it is to use the Flippa search wizard, and how you can get the results that you want.
Let’s see how it works.
How Flippa’s Search Wizard Works
Go to Flippa’s home page and you’ll spot it: below the header, there’s a box that reads, “New to Flippa? Start here to find the sites that are right for you.”
Click on Start, and you’ll see a box that asks if you’ve ever bought a website before. Select the answer that applies to you and click Next.
On the next page, choose at least three topics that interest you. This will help us home in on the kinds of opportunities that might best suit your passions. Click Next.
The next screen asks you what type of site you’re after—something brand new, that has little or no traffic or revenue? Or something that’s more established, with proven traffic levels? These more established sites are more likely to be earning money.
If you’re not sure at this stage, select Both. Then, click Next.
If you’re not a registered Flippa user (or you’re not signed in), you’ll see a Login page next.
Log in (or click Don’t have an account? to sign up) and you’ll see the final page of the search wizard. Click the green button to see the results that match your preferences.
How to Filter Your Searches
Now, since your search criteria will be fairly broad, you’ll probably see a large number of search results. But don’t worry—you can filter the results using the options in the left-hand sidebar.
Do you only want to see website listings? Click that option. Want only those results with certain revenues, downloads, or visitor counts per month? Just click the relevant options.
Or filter the results to sites of a certain age, or with certain domains.
This is a really easy way to find sites that meet your particular preferences, but it can also give you a clearer picture of what’s out there if you’re just browsing.
Oh, and we’ll automatically send you news of Flippa listings that match the search criteria you just entered. This way, you’ll stay up-to-date with the auctions that you’ll want to know more about (without you having to lift a finger). If you don’t want to see them, click on the Unsubscribe button at top-right of the results.
See? We told you it was simple! How did your first Flippa search go? Let us know in the comments.
