Flippa’s New Sales Record: Are You Responsible?
Posted on August 20th, 2010 by Dave Slutzkin
It’s been a huge seven days at Flippa: over $1 million worth of web property has changed hands here in the last week!
It’s a new sales record! And on top of that, we’ve passed $40 million of website sales for the life of the marketplace:

Yesterday’s sales and auctions brought the week’s total to 371. That’s a lot of property, and a lot of happy buyers and sellers.
If you’ve been keeping an eye on the site, you may have notice some high-value auctions taking place – and some great private sales that we can’t disclose… Among the bigger public deals were:
- www.esampleresume.com for $76,000
- www.seniorpictures.com for $50,000
- www.yourcnatrainingguide.com for $42,800
- www.peplas.se for $15,000
- likeyard.com for $12,000
- omafia.net for $12,000
- lessisus.com for $10,750
Check out these auctions to get an idea of the kinds of properties that are hitting the market right now. There are some great buys – and more than a few bargains, too.
If you’re not in the market for a premium site, don’t worry: the average price of property sold in the last seven days was $2,675, and a big slice of the action was in more modestly priced properties.
Congratulations to the buyers and sellers of these sites for riding the site flipping boom. Will you be joining them?

They have to show they are good. And they are, indeed.
Kind of advertisement, isn’t it?
August 21, 2010 - 12:53 am
You should care. It means the market is very active, and if you have a website that adds real value for sale, it will be sold at a good price.
August 20, 2010 - 6:15 pm
This just goes to show that while the start up market has fallen on its arse (with good reason I might add), that site flipping is growing rapidly when you create quality sites that help people by providing real value.
Congrats to all the site sellers and to Flippa.
I love this industry!
August 20, 2010 - 11:41 pm

Awesome work gents. Absolutely smashed the previous record. Congrats.
August 21, 2010 - 4:21 am
$1 million in one week is very impressive, especially since Flippa had a total of $40 million in sales in the previous 208 weeks combined. I wonder what caused the huge surge, and if Flippa can keep it up. If so, then that’s very good news for the flipping industry. Good luck!
August 21, 2010 - 5:13 am
Great news for you guys out there. I just hope it means the buyers are beginning to have confidence in the sellers and the sellers in the buyers.

Another reason to be sure you outright own your own website, code, assets and to stay away from 3rd party templates, vendors and the like.

Massive leap in terms of buying and selling websites online. The best thing is, it’s going to continue to grow.
August 23, 2010 - 12:22 am

August 23, 2010 - 11:35 am
I love this. How i wish i am sharing from this mega profit.
August 23, 2010 - 8:53 pm
Good work guys i hope you will look into escrow.com issues between buyers and sellers where buyers withdraw funds from escrow after they have received all the site codes from sellers, had some complaints on that issue and hope it would be resolved.Meanwhile i want to sell forexnewsfactory.com wondering if it would be of great value
August 24, 2010 - 5:34 am
Been considering listing http://www.theps4forums.com for a while now… seeing how busy the marketplace currently is I may well go ahead with the listing!
August 25, 2010 - 8:17 pm
what is the price can i make it differrnt than other?
August 25, 2010 - 8:23 pm
oh it.s amazing
August 26, 2010 - 7:23 am
I have to say this is very impressive. I was also amazed at the price reached by the ‘retweet’ auction earlier in the year
August 27, 2010 - 4:36 am
I have to admit this post is a bit disappointing Flippa. You are somewhat boasting about some bad deals.
lessisus.com for $10,750:
Clearly a SCAM and the seller is even BANNED from Flippa ( http://flippa.com/users/382069/trust-breakdown )
http://www.seniorpictures.com for $50,000:
This site is a resale of a February auction and a quick look through the data and claims and they do not add up.
http://www.peplas.se for $15,000:
If it really sold for $15,000 why is the same seller listing it again for much less? (http://flippa.com/auctions/103317/Established-Dating-Website—Profitable-social-network–dating-business) and the numbers on this site do not add up at all!
With the exception of maybe one of these (MAYBE) they all seem like bad deals and ones that didn’t even go smoothly. Disappointed here.
