Minor Makeover – and Flippa Is Hiring!
Posted on September 25th, 2009 by Dave Slutzkin
I’m sure you’ve all noticed that the main pages of Flippa have a slightly new look – we’ve had a bit of a tidy up!

We think it’s a fair bit easier to browse through the listings you want to see now. You can skip straight to the Ending Soon listings to see what you’re about to miss out on, or see the Ended Unsold listings to get a sense of where there might be opportunities for bargains. Just Sold shows you what’s finding buyers in case you’re wondering about what to create next!
Let us know at Support (support@flippa.com) if you have any issues with the new layout, but we like it.
Other changes this week:
Sellers Can Show Minimum Offer on Private Sales
The problem with private sales is that they don’t show much information, so buyers have no real way of knowing whether or not their valuation of the site is close to the seller’s. We’ve added an option to allow sellers of private sales to show their minimum offer. This isn’t necessarily the number that they’ll accept for the site, but it gives you an idea of the ballpark. Turning this on, as a seller, means that you give people more reason to look at your listing!
Listing View Counts Ignore the Owner
Listing view counts were pretty misleading, because they’d count all the times that you went to the listing. We’ve changed that so that seller isn’t counted when they view their own listing. We hope that makes the view count a bit more useful for sellers.
Flippa Is Hiring!
We’re always on the lookout for gun PHP developers and innovative front-end designer/coders to help us improve the site. If you’re in sunny Melbourne, Australia (which is currently in the middle of a rain storm) or you feel like moving here, and you want to work on some great web development in a comfortable environment, you should definitely email us and we’ll have a chat:

Please add the option to sort the auctions by amount of bids they received, both in ascending and descending order.
I really miss this feature.

Can you add the ability to sort by new listings?
This was a easy way to purchase sites before too many eyes got on them
September 25, 2009 - 8:39 pm
Please add a Second Chance Offer option if you have more than one of the same website to sell. It would be nice to offer the next lowest bidder the ability to buy at their highest bid price. More money for us and Flippa!

Please add the ability the following:
- have the ability to follow people via RSS (similar to following people’s store on ebay)
- When using an RSS reader to follow feeds also include
BIN price and url being sold as part of the title
- add an industry field category in search

I agree, would love to see RSS Feeds for our auctions as mentioned by Fred.

I like the new layout very much! No offense to Sitepoint guys/gals, but the marketplace was too hard to navigate. This is a thousand times better.

I did get used to the site and now I find myself actually liking the layout. Guess all it takes is getting used to what is new…which then becomes the norm…

I actually had to create a second account because the first one would not allow me to verify my phone. I emailed you all about it and haven’t received a response yet. When I try to click on the thing you all emailed me to check the status of the ticket it doesn’t even goto a page it goes to page can not be displayed.

I really like the new design and being able to see what sold recently. If I lived in Melbourne I’d definitely check you guys out as you seem pretty fun to work for.
I have some design experience.

hello,
please add those twoo things to flippa to be more professional :
1-add support center, with ticket support and live help.
2-home page must show new listing, and in left and right side bare show featured listing.
so new listing got exposed to traffic too, and old auctions can become featured for those who bought the upgrade.
3-add login boxe,to right sidebare.
4-slogan “buy and sell websites put it under logo.
5-add top 460.68 banner, to advertise your promo offers.
6-site stats must be in top header not footer to give more trust to visitors they ll like those 31millions dollars of flippa transactions lol
