Description
This was once one of the leading coupon sites on the Internet. Back in 2002 and 2003 it dominated the SERPs, having #1 listings for everything. It made over $1000 a day in profit back then. It was one of the top 4 Dell Computer affiliates, worldwide. In one month it sent almost a million dollars of revenue to Dell.
Then search engine rankings were lost, not because of bans or penalties but because of algorithm changes. Competitors started doing very black hat things that I did not want to follow (and funnily enough, it worked). Meanwhile I had started an ecommerce business that took off and did very well. This site languished unused, and unupdated. Every once in awhile I'd make an improvement to get rankings back but it would only be temporary. Meanwhile, because I was stupid enough to post about my success on a webmaster forum (haha) thousands of imitators entered the market, drastically increasing competition. And many of these innovated with new fancier features.
In the intervening years my business has moved in another direction. I don't want to worry about this site anymore.
Last year I hired someone to redo the software on the site, adding web 2.0 community features, integrating with vbulletin, etc, but I never got around to finishing the job. The programming is solid, the design sucks IMO, and I also coded automatic importers but never finished doing it for all the networks (just CJ at this point).
The site makes very little anymore, mostly because of my lack of effort. The site can make much more though, and in fact has. It just needs someone willing to put the effort into it.
What you're mostly buying here is not an existing revenue stream, but rather a premium domain and some old legacy goodwill/link popularity and some software. There is not a doubt in my mind that with a little work the site could again earn thousands a month. I just don't have the time, I have many other very successful websites and businesses and those are all far more related to each other than this one.
"coupon code" is an extremely popular generic search term, especially when appended to a merchant name.

That is where the value is.
Revenue Details
I do not fully break out my affiliate revenue by site. But I would estimate this site made around $200 a month for 2009. And it definitely made over $1000 a day back at the peak of it's popularity. $17,000 in revenue, for one month, just from Dell, one merchant program. Sept of 2003.
Traffic Details
Around 120 uniques a day now.
