Q: Ok, but I still know humans must be involved to run 110MB (for support, linux admins, etc...). So how many people currently run the company?
A: 2 people. 1 as a linux admin. Salary: $500 p/m. NOTE: Using your own Adsense account is banned on 110MB -- because 35% of 110MB's traffic is adult. We were already banned back in Sept 2006, but used another account and got through.
Furthermore, around Dec, 09 - Adsense also banned ability for users to place their own Adsense code on their http://mydomain.110mb.com. However there's NO problem running Adsense on their own domains like http://mydomain.com which is associated to their 110MB account.
Interesting because seems Google is peeved at our success over their free hosting service Googlepages.com - which co-incidentally runs Adsense without a problem! Who knows. :-)
Of course this ban has hardly affected user experience - because most who have Adsense code on their sites on 110MB are using their own domains (EG: http://mydomain.com) anyway.
It's only a shame because the ban happened exact month we've finally listed 110MB for sale (which was planned to be sold on Dec 09, back in mid 2008). And a few quick-to-judge & negative folks are happy to draw uninformed and immature conclusions that we're selling because of this ban. If bot matches predefined rule with file/image contents, it's suspends the account, whereby they can't login to retrieve their files.
Q: Why is 110MB's Alexa falling since 2009?
A: Because on early 2009 we cut bandwidth from 300GB per user to 10GB per FREE user, and space from 5GB to 110MB per FREE user. This deterred portion of people and existing users couldn't drive so much traffic to their sites, hence site-wide Alexa ranking fell. So it's entirely a conscious/deliberate and controlled act. Because expenses were reaching sky-high. So this actually increased our monthly revenues with the sacrifice of Alexa ranking. (Strangely, server logs are not showing ANY decline in traffic in comparison to time when Alexa started falling. And we'll gladly base the reality on server logs VS. Alexa or Compete. Probably because they base measurements on US traffic mostly. But 110MB is worldwide traffic.)
Due to moving Netherlands rack in Dec 31 2009 from Internetworx to Leaseweb, our monthly costs are slashed down $4500 p/m. That's why we increased bandwidth again from 10GB to 100GB on Dec 01, 2009. So Alexa should be on rise again by mid 2010.

I'm a little confused with your cost per month breakdown. You state that your current cost is $4500p/m and you are moving data centers in 5-6 days to cut costs even more. But you state you are cutting costs by $4500 by moving data centers. This puts your cost at $0. Is $4500p/m the cost after moving data centers?
Also, I was looking over your site and saw that you are getting a new server in ~10 days. What are the initial costs to get a new server up and running and then how does it affect the p/m cost? Also, based on your old and new specs (5GB and 300GB BW vs 110MB and 100GB BW) how often do you add new servers?

$4500 is after the move and that includes the new upcoming server 18. So there's no hidden costs that weren't mentioned in auction. Per 300GB per free user, servers are added every 2-3 months. Offering 100GB per free user, it's every 4-5 months. For comparison of how code optimized system is -- if 110MB was running cPanel, you'd have to add a new server every 15 days.

So it's practical we train your own staff, whereby you'd find many full time employees on Elance/Rentacoder who'd work for less then $500 per month, because there's very little work needed to maintain 110MB due to it's extreme automation of everything.
As said, 2 months we'll work for buyer for free. That's more then sufficient time to transfer our 4+ years of hosting experience to your side.
