Description

www.BreathProblems.com

This is one of my favorite sites, and probably the last one I'll ever sell. But I have a big project I want to finance, so it's time to let someone else have $5,000/year of autopilot income.

This site was established on May 31, 2007.

Site income had averaged about $435 per month for the past 2 years!

The site is a steady earner, with with multiple Top 10 rankings for phrases like:

-get rid of tonsil stones (#1)

-how to get rid of tonsil stones (#1)

-magic mouthwash (#4)

-food stuck in tonsils (#1)

-canker sores on gums (#2)

....and more!

The site has about 60 pages of unique content, including a pre-sell letter for its primary product promotion with a unique sales letter design that allows you to customize the sidebar and make it different from all other pages on site!

It also includes a sign up for a Free Bad Breath Ebook. Upon signing up for the ebook, the customer is cookied to you for life!

I've worked with the primary merchant since April 2003. They always pay without fail, and offer Lifetime Commissions on the sales of their products.

WINNER WILL RECEIVE:

  • Transfer of ownership of the BreathProblems.com domain
  • The complete site including full rights to and complete ownership of all content on the site.
  • Transfer of ownership to all related affiliate accounts

Traffic Details

Over 93% of traffic comes from Search Engines, and the traffic is 100% from free sources. I've done two rounds of backlinking over the past 2 1/2 years (something I recommend everyone do with their sites from time to time). Other than that, the site is 100% passive.

Monthly Traffic Stats - 11-2008 through 10-2009

The site was moved from the Site Build It! (SBI) platform to the Wordpress platform on October 29, 2009 for greater flexibility. At that point, site statistics moved from SBI's internal Webalyzer tracking to Google Analytics.

Traffic - November 2009

I've created a 10 minute video showing you all of the traffic details and income shots throughout the site's life. You can view it here:

HQstuff - I have a BIN in mind, but I want to wait for a few days before I post it to see how bidding goes. It's only a 5 day auction, so odds are I'll post it in a day or two.

I'm happy to send you screenshots of the individual sales for the past 3 months. I'll PM you with that info.

sama3l - In November 2009 the site moved from the Site Build It! framework, to a Wordpress blog format. When I did that, I had to switch stats programs over from SBI's custom Webalyzer service to Google Analytics.

If you look at the screenshots above, click on the one that says:

    "Site Stats - November 2009"

And you will see Novembers stats in Google Analytics.

    Thanks!

    Hi

    Some quick questions....

    1. Can you pls confirm that all of your affiliate income programs will pay to an International owner (Australia)?

    2. Also you said that some of your revenue comes from resales.. life time affiliate cookies still with past purchasers. My question is.. will these existing clients be transferred to the new owner.. even if you are happy with this will the affiliate owners actually be bothered to do this 4 you. This is important to valuing your site as this repeat business forms a part of the promoted revenue.

    3. Finally, what percentage of revenue is from repeated business

    Cheers

    Hi!

    1) Yes, I only use one merchant, and they will pay to Australia, though I recommend having them pay you through your PayPal account. Otherwise they mail checks, and that could potentially be a pain.

    2) Yes, the affiliate account will transfer with the sale of the site, so all sales from both new and past purchasers will continue unaffected. The only thing that will change is who the payments are being made to - in this case, the new site owner. :)

    3) It varies from month to month, but looked at yearly, my amount of new sales vs. repeat sales is just about 50/50.

    Hope this helps!

    ~Mike

    Hey Mike,

    A few questions:

The site is current passive but can you elaborate on what may be involved with active work in future. eg vendor updates products etc.

Will you be giving some time to the new owner (novice) to run through how to manage the site. Will you also transfer to new host.

    Thanks

    Hi!

My personal belief is that the site isn't necessarily in need of more content at this time. I believe that the biggest growth area for the site would be to build backlinks to more of the existing pages to improve rankings.

Analytics show that the site was found for nearly 1,500 keywords in the past 30 days. I would go through those keywords (not all of which will hold #1, or even Top 10 positions) and build backlinks for those keywords to improve their rankings further.

As part of the sale, I am happy to function in an advisor / consultant capacity for 90 days after the sale, so the new owner can "get their feet under them" as far as getting comfortable in the niche.

Yes, I can either transfer the site to a new host, or the new owner can take over its current hosting. It's currently hosted by itself on a highly rated host (KnownHost.com) for only $7 a month.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Mike

Do you have any proof that ties the sales to the site being sold? The sales shown could have originated from any site that you own. Your affiliate relationship with Therabreath started (April 2003) long before the site was created (May 2007) and so is not tied to this particular site. Thanks.

    Hi jemtee,

Thanks! November was the first full month that the site was on the blog platform. Sales for the month were $534.42. Traffic was down a bit, but that can be attributed to a page that had a Top 10 ranking that I accidentally created an infinte 301 redirect loop to when I moved the site, and didn't catch it for three weeks.

Google dropped that page from its rankings. I have since fixed the problem, and have been working to restore the page. As of last night it was back to #11. :)

One of the biggest reasons I moved the site was to increase flexibility. The new platform makes it much easier to send traffic to the specific places I want it to go, and allowed for much easier set up of "presell" types of pages.

    Hooperman...

Here's the best way I can think of at the moment to prove the link between the affiliate account and the site...

Watch the video, and at one point you will see me log into the TheraBreath affiliate backend. Note the affiliate ID number when I log in (it's 1164).

Now go the BreathProblems.com website, pick a page, and hover over a link, or click on it. If it's a link going to TheraBreath (which 90% are - the rest are internal links) you will see the same affiliate ID (1164) in ALL of the links that go directly to TheraBreath.

If you click on the link and go to TheraBreath, look for their phone number in the upper left hand portion of the page. You'll notice an extension number at the end of the phone number. That extension will also be 1164 - my affiliate ID. This is how TheraBreath works to eliminate any "commission leakage" from people who call in orders.

That's the best way I can think of to prove a link between the two. If you have any better suggestions, please let me know.

    Thanks!
    ~Mike

Last week I played around with my presell page and moved it from http://www.breathproblems.com/therabreath-tonsil-stones-kits.html to http://www.breathproblems.com/tonsil-stones-kits/ and back again.

I thought I cleaned that up and changed those links back last week, but obviously something got messed up in the process.

Thanks for pointing that out! Give it a try it now.

any risk of therabreath stopping relevant products? also have you tried putting the site completely on adsense (ie worst case if affiliate sales run into problems what would the site be worth from adsense point of view). thanks mike

    Hi!

No chance of TheraBreath stopping relevant products. A few of their products can be found at major retailers, and they have grown tremendously in the 6 1/2 years I have worked with them.

Adsense can be a money maker on the site, though I have consistently done better with TB products as I've tested off and on over the years.

There are a couple of additional prominent vendors out there as well (Trusted Health Products being another very good one), so there are plenty of options to monetize the site now and in the future.
