Turn-Key VoIP Phone Service Business Available
6 Year Old Premium Domain – Just Five Characters
I registered http://www.5PCom.com almost 6 years ago. I used it to market affiliate products and software for a few years, and then launched it as a private label VoIP phone service provider in April of 2007.
Become a Private Label Reseller of VoIP Services
This is your opportunity to own your unique brand of VoIP phone services, earn GENEROUS UP FRONT COMMISSIONS, as well as ONGOING RESIDUAL INCOME FROM YOUR ENTIRE CUSTOMER DATABASE.
All of that while you bear NONE of the costs of labor or equipment associated with infrastructure, customer orders, billing, or anything else, because the backend provider does all of that. You just drive conversions and collect checks!
This Beats The Hell Out Of One Time Affiliate Commissions
The backend voip phone service is provided by a facilities based company which both an ISP and VoIP communications provider. All details of my contract with this provider will be provided, and are fully transferable to the successful bidder, upon completion of this auction.
NOTE: I invested $1500 license fee to become a reseller, in addition to long hours of SEO and marketing. This fee will not apply to the new owner, so you’re getting a tremendous value with the BIN price.
To respect the privacy of their other resellers, I am not disclosing the backend provider publicly in this listing, however I will do so in a private message or email, and am happy to put you in contact with the company’s reseller manger, to confirm all facts about my site, brand, and transferable reseller agreement.
Just to be clear up front how my site interfaces with the backend provider:
My domain, 5pcom.com, is a standalone site built on the Joomla 1.5 CMS, in its own CPanel hosting account (through my private label hosting account at Hostgator.)
NOTE: The Joomla Site is powered by a free siteground template, so that aspect of the "design" is not 100% "unique". However, all graphics, content, formatting, etc. on each page of the front end site is 100% unique and produced by me. This is not a "mirror" or "duplicate" site.
In fact, there is a Joomla template available already uploaded on this site, which combines 2 seperate templates along with some customized graphics that I did - end result is essentially a "unique" template. With one click this can be applied to the entire site, and it is worth looking at, because it does look good.
When You Win This Auction, You Get This Site And Premium Short Domain, And 100% Control Over The Hosting To Do With As You Please.
You can turn this into a niche blog or other VoIP, Tech, or Software site if you like. However, if you choose to remain a VoIP reseller under the current set up, the following info is relevant to understand:
Reseller Backend
The order process is handled by my backend provider’s private label site (branded with my logo etc.) which is hosted on THEIR servers, and which I point to with an A record and sub-domain.
Therefore, the provider’s site for my brand lives at http://voip.5pcom.com. I do not, and have never had “control” over the files that you will see at that sub domain, and neither will you. (Again, it’s hosted by the parent company, and I point my sub domain at it via an A-record.)
The version of the site you see there contains all the processes required to capture new customer sales for the 5PCom brand. There is also a reseller admin area where you can see your sales and customer database, in real time.
If you choose to continue as a reseller, this back end site will stay branded as 5PCom and simply be transferred to your name, but you do not have “control” over this backend site, except for the branding info such as logo (should you choose to update it with a better looking one) your business contact info, etc.
(This assumes you continue to build a business as a reseller with this provider. You can of course opt to find a different backend provider, or turn the site into a niche review or news type blog, or do anything you want with it.)
Note: If you remain a reseller with the current backend provider, you will be billed $30 monthly for web maintenance. I personally think this is high, but it is part of the cost of doing this business, and I wanted to be clear and transparent about the fee.
Many private label resellers simply pick a brand name and domain, and simply point that at their mirrored copy of the provider’s reseller site, which is customized with the reseller’s logo.
However, I wanted the ability to SEO and rank my own online property, in an effort to drive more traffic, get more conversions, and then ultimately be in control of the front end branding and domain, which is why I chose to build out my own site.
In addition, I wanted the ability to monetize my site independent of my reseller revenues, which I did. Almost $300 of the site’s monthly, consistent revenues come from the brokerage of ads on the site (all of which, of course, is to be transferred to you with sale of the site.)
Revenue Details
Revenues
VoIP Customer Revenue
Each time you acquire a new customer, you are paid a first months commission equivalent of one full month fees for the customer’s chosen plan (payable upon first successful billing of customer, i.e. if they do not quit in the first 30 days.) Then, for every additional month the customer continues as a subscriber, you are paid the monthly recurring.
The ongoing monthly commission varies based on how many total customers you have in your database. It is not all that high, frankly ($2 to $5 depending on how many customers you have total.)
Compensation Schedule
The following is the schedule for monthly recurring commissions. This is paid IN ADDITION TO the initial commission/bounty which is equal the dollar amount of the plan chosen by the customer. That initial commission would be either $14.99 (Home Basic) $19.99 (Home Unlimited) $39.99 (Business Basic) or $49.99 (Business Unlimited) PLUS the monthly ongoing commission according to this table:
1-20 Customers: $2 per customer
21-100 Customers: $3 per customer
101-500 Customers: $4 per customer
500+ Customers: $5 per customer
(Additional tiers paid on customer referral customers, all documentation to be provided.)
To illustrate, if a customer signs up on the Residential Unlimited plan, you are paid 19.99 upon first successful billing, and then the recurring monthly fee for that customer for every month they stay on as a customer.
If you get 10 new signups per month on the above plan, that’s 10 X 19.99 or $199.90, payable the following month (after their 1st 30 days is up and they have paid their bill) on the 15th. The month after that, assuming you had another 10 signups, you would again have $199.90, PLUS 10 X the monthly recurring. Assuming $2.00 per customer that means your next commission check would be for $219.90 ($199.90 + $20 ) and so on.
Commission checks for VoIP service are sent on the 15th of the month, for the prior months cleared and successful billings. The backend company is very timely and consistent with payment, has never been late or failed to pay.
Current Customer Revenue: $38/MO
Averaged over past 30 Months: $138.53/MO
My best month brought me $455.87 in September of 2007
ALL CUSTOMER REVENUE IS DOCUMENTED
With the current database of only 18 customers times $2.00 monthly recurring, I am receiving $38 per month roughly, although I continue to get a trickle of new customers. If the new signups remain past 30 days, then this number would go up substantially due to the first month commissions that are payable.
Current Ad Revenue $217.03/MO
The site is in the Text Link Ads program. Currently, 8 potential advertiser spots are available, selling for $100 per month asking price (many bought at lower prices and negotiated down on price) and currently 6 out of those 8 are sold (thus generating monthly revenue.) All 8 were sold-out solid for months on end, however just recently 2 of the advertisers cancelled.
Admittedly, the price per link was set at this level back when my PageRank was higher, however all told, the current monthly revenue from TLA is at $217 as of this writing (was up to $291.83 for a couple of months in August and September.
This revenue is deposited into my PayPal each month on 1st, like clockwork. The TLA account for 5PCom would be updated with your contact info and PayPal address upon completion of sale.
Ad Revenue Averaged over 19 Months: $196.25/MO
Current Ad Revenue for November 09 Billing Period: $217.03/MO
ALL AD REVENUE IS DOCUMENTED
Established Revenues with Great Potential
Anyone who has the desire to succeed and is willing to put in some consistent effort can turn this site into a nice income stream. I am tempted to keep this site, but I know that I have too many other projects and realistically may not ever get around to doing the SEO and content generation required to take it to the next level. But the foundation has been laid, so take advantage of it.
As I said above, the offline and paid marketing potential has been, until this point, untapped.
Traffic Details
Rankings
Currently, most of my page 1 and page 2 rankings are or revolve around the following:
softphone service
softphone voip
voip softphone
voip feature list
softphone for laptops
vonage comparison
However, the site is “on the map” for more competitive terms such as VoIP Service and Business VoIP, etc. By that I mean for many of these and related terms I am ranked roughly in the first 5 pages of results. The site just needs some ongoing SEO effort and link love to get back in the first page results on these. (At one time, I did have a top 10 position for VoIP Service as an example…)
Traffic
Full traffic stats out of my Statcounter.com account are available. I had Google Analytics installed, and for whatever reason, the traffic wasn’t reporting, so I stuck with Statcounter.
Unique visits per day are fairly low averaging (for the year) at 16 per day, and for the month, average uniques are at about 18 per day.
Please keep in mind, at the height of my marketing efforts, this number was much higher (roughly 50-75 uniques a day.) Traffic is down purely because I have not been actively marketing, promoting, or building new content, etc.
Considering the revenues I am making now on such a low volume of traffic, I can only imagine the earning potential if this site were doing 100 or 200 uniques per day.
Domain and PageRank History
Within 6 months of launch, 5PCom.com had a PageRank of 3, and with continued back linking and SEO, the maximum PageRank acquired was 4 (maybe 5 briefly.)
Within that first year, I had generated over 100 new customer conversions using entirely organic search traffic. This number could have been a LOT higher if I had a dedicated marketing budget to speak of, for PPC and other forms of paid traffic.
Note: due to attrition, and the fact that I have not been actively promoting this site, the current active customer base is down to 18. This number is partially the result of natural attrition, and unfortunately, some fraudulent transactions. However, it is really only this low because I eventually neglected to actively promote the site.
I admit, after busting a** for almost a year straight, I was disappointed with my monthly earnings, and moved on to other projects (not to mention having a day job.) In retrospect, had I kept up the momentum, I am confident I would have had a substantial customer database by now.
Also, for a significant period of time, this site was listed on VoipReview.org back when their revenue model was based on affiliate marketing. This source of exposure and traffic alone significantly increased my conversions and customer acquisition (and probably my PageRank.)
When they changed their model to a paid advertising platform, I did not want to spend the marketing budget to keep my listing. However, anyone who chooses to actively market the brand, buys ad space on the major Telecom sites, and continues an SEO plan for this site can easily grow the customer base beyond what I had achieved at the peak of my sales.
The Potential For Sales Is HUGE!
This business was only marketed online using organic SEO. However, there is untapped potential to grow sales via offline marketing methods, telemarketing, paid advertising and PPC, and every other conceivable marketing channel available.
SEO
I had a subscription to HackerSafe before they became McAfeeSecure. With that subscription came a PageRank 7 listing in the HackerSafe Merchant Directory, and shortly after that my site’s pagerank went to 4. At that point, I began to get very respectable rankings for competitive industry terms, such as “VoIP Service”, “Business VoIP”, and “Residential VoIP”.
FYI, these terms are going for between $5 and $10 PER CLICK, for anyone that may be interested in changing the business model over to Adsense.
My point here is, with a few well placed back links, in addition to the 707 links already in place (confirmed at Yahoo via link:www.5pcom.com) , along with some regularly updated blog posts or news articles, this site could have great rankings and PageRank in a very short period of time (due to the domain age and history.)
In other words, the momentum has been well established, and with some good planning, execution, and a marketing budget to speak of, this site has huge potential for monetization.
BONUS #1: $1500 LICENCE FEE IS ALREADY PAID!
The standard fee to be a reseller is $1500 up front. This was almost a “barrier of entry” for me, and I had to split it into 3 payments just to make it easier to swallow. The successful bidder wins this TURN KEY BUSINESS with no license fee, and a simple ownership transfer form is all that is required to transfer my reseller license to you. This is a STEAL!
BONUS #1: OFFLINE MARKETING MATERIALS
I had a large batch of paper flyers printed for this business shortly after launch (500 I think) and I only distributed a small number of them. The design is actually quite nice, and I will definitely make these available to the successful bidder, assuming you want them.
BONUS #2: TECHNICAL AND MARKETING SUPPORT
I will be available for support and advice on strategies for promotion, SEO, any technical assistance I can provide, and to liaison between the successful bidder and the backend company’s reseller support manager, to ensure a smooth and hiccup free transfer.
In addition, the backend company does provide both free and paid services to assist resellers in growing their businesses, so you will in fact receive support from them as well, upon request. I will leverage my existing relationship to the fullest on your behalf, to ensure you receive every advantage in growing your business.
Thanks in advance for your bids!

Can you PM proof of revenue and traffic details. Also - the backend provider. thanks.
Hi Aliciachong,
You must have read my mind. I was in the process of uploading proof of income when you question came in. Please see above, and let me know if you have further questions. Thanks!
What is your reserve. Also can this be managed by someone with minimal site experience. And what kind of support would you give regarding transfer.
I don't really want to discuss reserve publicly.
Both the front end site and the VoIP reseller admin area can be easily managed by a non-tech person. Front end is Joomla, which means you log into the admin and control everything with a WYSIWYG interface (it would help to be, or have someone, experienced with Joomla, but you can learn it fairly easily from scratch, as I did.)
I will give as much support as possible for site transfer. The site is now hosted on Hostgator, via my reseller account. Thus, I can simply give you admin credentials to the Cpanel, and you could continue to host it as is. I would charge you a buck less than equivalent of what HG would charge for a "baby" account if you want to leave it.
Or, to transfer it to another CPanel based hosting company would be the most straightforward to do, and most hosting companies would do the transfer for you free, to get your business (HostGator does for example.) Again, I will help to the best of my capacity whichever you decided to do. Since I am not quite at the technical level of a hosting engineer/tech, I could at the very least coordinate the process with whoever your host is to make sure it gets done completely.
With less than 4 hours to go, I just reduced my BIN price by $1300, down to $2500.
Also NOTE: The "profit" field was set to "0" due to an error, however the revenues shown monthly are in fact pure profit, because I do not spend a dime on PPC or other paid advertising for this site. That error has been corrected in the listing now.
Thanks for your bids!
