DDM Anime 30k uniques, 3600 members forum, 110k Alexa

Description

Up for sale is DDM Anime, a huge forum with over 30 000 uniques a month, near 200 000 pageviews a month, and over 3600 members. It has an Alexa rank of 110k, it has over 1500 inbound links on yahoo and  4,810 pages listed in yahoo (the stats on the right are wrong because they are for http://www.ddmanime.net, not http://ddmanime.net).

Cubestat has estimated DDM Anime's value at over $18 000.

 

There are two parts to the site, a forum and an add-on affiliate store.

 

The Forum

The forum software used is MyBB with a customized template. The forum has had extensive SEO carried out on it, 404 pages have been optimized, Meta tags have been optimized, Redirects have been optimized, sitemaps have been optimized and URL's have been optimized.

Revenue is generated from two advertising networks, Clicksor for banner ads and Infolinks for inline text ads. Much higher income could be realized by implementing a better quality advertiser such as Adsense (my adsense account got canceled about 8 months ago). Clicksor is just terrible, as you can see in the attachment, in one case with 4k impressions and 12 clicks, got paid $0.80, and with 1k impressions and 3 clicks, got paid $0.19. With adsense, you would be getting dollars, not cents for these sort of stats.

Revenue could also be dramatically increased by utilizing a bit of ad optimization (ad placement, ad rotation, etc.) and by possibly even starting an in house advertising system. With a bit of know-how much higher advertising revenue could be easily generated.

 

The Store

The store is an add-on and features many products from a lot of affiliate programs such as amazon, ebay, etc. The store software used is called 'StoreStacker'. The system uses 'rules' to pull products through various affiliate program API's so you get the full product description, picture, etc. as if you were running a normal store. It is fully personal branded, no 3rd party logo's to be seen and it matches the rest of the site quite well. The license to the software itself will NOT be included in the sale, but it is not needed to run the software on your server. You will only need it if you wish to update the software, and then you will only need the license for the main 'install' package, as most of the external plugin's have been bought, and do not ever need updating. all together the software by itself is worth about $200.

 

The store at the moment is not earning much money at all (only an occasional sale) but there have been no marketing efforts whatsoever spent on the store itself. All I did was build a 100% custom template so it looked identical to the rest of the site, stocked it, deleted the irrelevant items and put it up on the site, nothing more. so with a few marketing efforts and a bit of SEO, it could be a very profitable value added service.

 

What Needs To Be Done

There are a few small things that could be done bring more traffic, increase profit and just some general housekeeping as I have not actually touched the site for the last month or two (too busy with other business efforts, hence why this site is for sale, simply not enough hours in the day). The main header in the forum needs to be fixed, not a big problem, just a coding issue that I haven't had time to rectify. A few of the links to videos in the forums have fallen dead, so they need to be either deleted or re-uploaded. Other than that, the site is running very well and growing on it's own accord.

 

As stated above, with just a tiny bit of clever marketing and re-organizing this site has massive potential, you don't have to be a web marketing guru to figure that over 30k uniques a month means a decent bit of profit on the side, with very little work on your part.

   Traffic has been updated. There was a temporary dip in traffic from one of the sites large traffic source referral sites deleting our link, but after less than a month, the traffic seems to have recovered to what it was before, and is on the climb again (rather suddenly as well).

   Approximately 30-35% from search engines, rest comes from links that have been built up (in forums, blogs, lists, etc.) and direct traffic.
