SERP rank #2-4 for 'learning styles' on Google. #1 for all 7 learning styles (visual, aural, verbal, physical, logical, social (intrapersonal), solitary (interpersonal) styles). Significant organic traffic through these rankings and hundreds of other links. The site has been operational since 2003.
Essentially the site allows a user to answer 70 questions about themselves then the site calculates scores across 7 learning styles. It also allows users to compare their results against their demographic peers. Instructors are able to set up class IDs and then see the results.
Includes over 5GB of data – large potential for analytics, research etc. Note this is not web server logs - it is the learning styles of over 730,000 users along with their profile (country, age, occupation etc), and contact info (for registered users - over 600,000). There are some dud user profiles - we do not do email confirmation and havent sent a newsletter for a while so you would need to clean the user data if you wish to use it fully.
Provides group/site license functionality for instructor access – more opportunity to market this for significantly increased revenue. Over 1,400 instructors currently registered with 2,000+ groups.
Includes perpetual license for learning styles inventory questions/answers and learning styles descriptions (original questionnaire is part of the Memletics Manual - owned by seller). Happy to include a non-compete clause for this material.
Large opportunity here to exploit existing and new user base, especially if you have the infrastructure to market to large user numbers.
Runs on ASP (mostly) and some ASP.NET on Windows 2003 & SQL Server 2005. You will need to provide your own SQL Server license and server (will not run on SQL Server express). Alternatively, it could be moved to MySQL/PostgreSQL with some coding changes.
Currently I pay $89/m for a US based dedicated server (not including SQL Server license) which is shared with a few other of my own websites. I am willing to negotiate to provide additional help setting up your site however the pricing assumes I will provide zips of data backups & code with limited assistance to get running in current state.
Revenue Details
Generates approx $300PM Adsense. We recently stopped selling the other products through the website, however prior to July 2009 it was generating $400-600PM of revenue for on-site services (buying a learning styles report) and related products (educational manuals).
The site code supports 2 levels of membership and 3 levels of group registration. This is currently disabled (everything is free) as we have discontinued the ecommerce engine of the main site (as of July 2009).
The sale pricing is based on organic traffic and user base. It would take a significant amount of capital to generate this traffic and user base through adwords and other means.
We have not focused significantly on the site over the past few years due to too many competing projects, so its up to the new owner to develop the site to its full potential.
Traffic Details
In September we typically hit 1,500-2,500+ new registered users a day, up to 6,500 unique visitors a day, and up to 50,000 page impressions a day. This is the start of the US school year and hundreds of teachers take their classes here to test their learning styles.
Averages 500-1,000 new registered users a day, 2,000 unique visitors, 13,400 page views a day averaged across the year.
ALL TRAFFIC IS ORGANIC - we do not spend a cent on avertising the site.

Is there anything proprietary about the material at the site? Memletics is an sister site of yours and I am guessing more important than this site and what's stopping you from just offering the same service at this site at Memletics? Why did you stop monetizing the site with one-site services? Also, why did you disable group registration?
We have stopped selling the Memletics products as we are focusing on other projects (checkout is disabled in the store). Given I spent many months developing the Manuals and Memletics site, I am not yet ready emotionally to sell the IP though! As the learning styles site (LSO) used the Memletics site for ecommerce, we have stopped selling the onsite services and the bundled products. I am yet to fully update the LSO site to reflect this - so in the mean time everything on the LSO site is free.
We are happy to execute a non-compete agreement with the buyer, and also establish the formal agreement for the unrestricted and perpetual use of the learning styles questions, style descriptions and answer codes. The rest of the IP (ie code, data) will be transferred in the sale.
Group registration should still be ok. If there is a problem, PM me and I'll look at it.
We would appreciate some clarification. What do you mean by 'non-compete agreement'? Do you mean that you will not sell the questionnaire ? please clarify.

Hi hskjadmin - the questionnaire was originally published in our Memletics Accelerated Learning Manual. We then created the learning styles website to help market the manual. We are offering an unlimited, perpetual license to use, change or adapt the questionnaire from the manual however the buyer sees fit, along with a non-compete agreement that specifies we will not establish a similar website or license anyone else to establish a similar website.

madhornet - I looked this today. These are stats from those who have opted to complete the demographics on their profile. (480,000 - thought it was higher however it is optional for the user to complete this data).
Age: 51% are under 21, 32% are 21-40
Sex: 37% male, 63% female
Occupation: 18% primary/secondary, 28% undergraduate, 6% post grad, 12% teacher, 8% academic, rest are small.
