Description

I have started this proxy network back in October of 2008 and have not stopped working on it since.  A lot of proxy owners build up there network of 100+ domains/sites and target new traffic everyday why do you ask?  It works.

It has come time that I have decided to sell my proxy network.  I have done some minor SEO campaign's on some of the domain's included in this auction.  However, most of the traffic comes direct / promoted traffic.

A few of the domains that will be included in this auction are premium domains and are very easy to remember.

I have been in the proxy business for quite some time know and have tried different ways of promotion and many different ways to monotize the targetted traffic and believe that I have found the best and easiest ways.

Included in this auction are

All domains / Content / Hosting & Support for one month.

Domains:

http://www.cantblock.me / http://www.rocketsurf.net / http://www.cloaking.mehttp://www.rocketfilter.net / http://www.unlocktheweb.org

+ 260 .INFO domain's!

rocketsurf.net has alexa ranking of 222k and cantblock.me has alexa 155k.

The domains range from PR0 - PR2

All of the proxies run Glype as a backend which has proven to be more and more powerful then the standard phpproxy and is even keeping up with CGIProxy.

The new owner will have my full support in the transfer of all domains / content to there server of choice.

Currently all of the sites run on my personal dedicated machine running at $159/month with unmetered bandwidth.

As you can see from the stats, for this month of March the projection is to be over $1400.00 USD.  I have tested and used all the networks listed above for one full month except for Bidvertiser which was 23 days on the month of Jan.

The revenue also shows that it is increasing month by month as the sites are getting more and more popular.

Traffic Details

I have done some major promotions done on all of the sites listed.

Some organic traffic

Over 50% of traffic is North American while the rest consist of many different countries.  I have blocked China / Iran / Russia.

Traffic is also increasing on a monthly basis not decreasing.

What do you do when the domains get blacklisted?

yuppie28: As many proxy owners know, domains get black listed mostly as soon as they are put up.. All of these domains have been registered for 2-3 months and im sure some are already blocked by websense. The key to remember is that there is always going to be traffic.. Traffic does not just drop from 100 percent down to 0 percent due to the fact that they are blocked. If you look at vtunnel.com which has been around for 2 years.. it gets over 500,000 unique's/day and has been blocked by websense for a year now..

So to conclude, even with websense filters the proxy will not be blocked by the entire world.

Websense filters are very expensive.. Not all schools/work places can afford to run the protocol.

so over 50% from north america ey?

once school lets out, the site is bound to plunder.
then you'll be begging for chinese, iranian, and russian traffic.

would take for $2k but no more.

szhang: Yes, over 50% north american. As for it plundering, I don't know what you have to base that comment on. I have been running proxies for many years and I know what percentage of this traffic is from school use and it would surprise you.

As for begging for china/iran/russian traffic. You can unblock those countries and watch your unique visitors sky rocket. Problem with that is those countries do not convert very well but it really is upto the new owner if they want to unblock those countries.

do they block ip or block on this proxy business? i notice you are using same ip for many domains (or all)? Do you have a proxy server running somewhere where you proxy through?

What type of servers are you running your sites on? What does it cost you monthly? Any other costs per month?

thepointer: Typically they just block the domain. I use 5-7 different ip's across all my domains.

w00ts!te: I run a quad core q6600 unmetered bandwidth. It cost's 159/month and that is it.. There are no other costs with the site except if you want to launch new proxies which would be 0.99c.

Do you colocate the server? What is the load like on the server? Do you see a necessary upgrade on the server anytime soon? Where's the bandwidth from?

w00ts!te: I lease the server from WDservers. It is hosted at FDC. The load isn't bad on the server, on average during peak hours probably 2.00 to 4.00. I do not see any need for a better server as this one does just find.. It never hangs.. apache works excellent on handling proxy requests etc. As for the bandwidth it is hosted at FDC so they provide all level3 bandwidth.
