Description

For sale is a site that's been online for almost a year now and averages $652 a month in profit (after PayPal Fees).

The site sells complete train horn kits for trucks and cars.

Revenue break down:
Feb - $151.80
Mar - $712.02
April - $695.04
May - $683.74
June - $1283.01
July - $793.32
Aug - $451.79
Sept - $839.34
Oct - $87.16 (See below)
Nov - $859.19
Dec - $620.64
Average = $652/mo.

The reason I had only one sale in October is because I was ripped off by someone (shipped to unconfirmed address.)
That would of brought revenue up over 400.

The reason for the up and down sales is because of my rankings. I did alot of link building for this site at first but haven't done any in the past 4 months.

Sales were down a bit in December due to my supplier being low on stock.

The site is very easy to run. All you do is process payments via the dropshippers website. They normally ship same day and provide you with a tracking number from UPS.com. This business can be ran from anywhere in the world.

On average you'll make $90-$180+ per kit profit.

Why am I selling?
I really don't want to sell this site but I need to focus on other ventures. If you look at December stats, you'll notice three pages of transactions, that's my new business, and it's doing well.

Potential Growth?
This site can make a lot more money if you know what your doing with SEO.I did what I could, and ranked okay, but I never ranked at the top, and I still make decent sales.

800 Number
The 1800 number is a voice mail we purchased through FreedomVoice. We probably get 2-4 calls a week from people wanting to purchase a kit. The price per month is $10. I don't think you can transfer the number but it wouldn't be hard to change the header with the new number.

Payment
PayPal is preferred but I understand if that's not an option.

TrainHornKits.co.uk is also included in this sale to help you promote products to people in the U.K.

Revenue Details

See Above.

Traffic Details

Traffic comes from other sites and Search Engines. The rankings flucuate from time to time. There is no PPC traffic whatsoever. I do spend approx. $25/mo advertising on this small forum, but I'm not sure if it helps or not.

A good site. There was another site selling truck train horns here some months ago. Any relation to this site? How much time is needed daily/weekly on the average to maintain this site an service the sales? What is your prognosis as far as the years to come? Will these horns be still popular say 5-10 years from now?

Interesting site, can you please provide my with access to Google Analytics?
How can you loose money when using PayPal? Do you send the order to your drop shipper before you get paid?
Did you build this site yourself?
Did you have to turn down customers in December due to your drop shipper?

Yes the other site was pulling in over $2500/mo. (no relation) and he actually makes less per kit than I do. The only thing he has different is he ranks in the SERPS. Anyone with SEO knowledge could easily do this.

As far as years to come, people love these horns, I don't see them going anywhere. My supplier has been in business for several years and I also know other people in the field that have been selling them for over 12 years.

It takes 5 minutes to process an order. Most question are simple and basic, "Will this fit on my 200X Ford _______."

I'm still trying to access my Analytics account. The name I signed up under was a website I previous sold so I can't reset it.
I lost money because the buyer was using a stolen credit card.
    Yes, I built the site.
Yes, 3 people, I had to give them refunds.

Is your supplier's stock better now? Are they going out of business? How many supplier's do you use?

No, the supplier is not going out of business. They are out of stock on some items but are expecting a big shipment in this month. There is still enough supplies for now, but on some orders I have to include the red compressors instead of the chrome ones. Most people do not mind them and they hold up better in weather anyway.

I do have another supplier I use when there are certain items I just don't have. He doesn't carry everything but he carries our best sellers.

So, what is the average profit margin on the kits? What per cent of sales is attributed to parts?

So, what is the average profit margin on the kits? What per cent of sales is attributed to parts?
I make $90-$180 profit depending on which kit they buy.

I do have another site, but it ranks for completely different search terms, and makes far less than this site.

    I ALSO FORGOT TO MENTION!
The site did get two sales from Amazon. This means my numbers are off for November and August. I would of made an additional $350 PROFIT for those months.
    Nov - $1209.19
    and
    Aug - $801.70

This would bring the sites average income/profit to: $716.08/mo!

I have been trying to find out what keywords your site ranks for - so far I can't find any - do you rank for any keywords?
Also I would still like to see Google Analytics - any luck with that yet please?

Rankings seem to jump around. Sometimes I rank top 10 for "train horn kits." and then other times I'm no where to be found. I really don't have an explanation for that. The other site I may include in this ranks number one for its search term.

I'll try Analytics again when I get back.

    What is the return/refund rate?

I've never had a single return. My supplier always makes sure the customer is happy. Best dropshipper I've ever dealt with. The only time I have to issue a refund is when something is out of stock.

    I've PM'd you french.

Care to share with us who the dropshippers are, or is that a trade secret?
There are some dropshippers I refuse to deal with. I have my own strict criteria and would perform due diligence before committing to a bid.

Just a word of caution to the seller, it is not a good idea to give out supplier information like dropshippers until the sale goes thru and then it should only be provided to the actual buyer.

Could you please reply to these questions?
    1) Where are these products manufactured?
    2) Where are they shipped from? USA or from another country?
    3) Do these items have a brand name?
    4) Who provides product support? You or the dropshipper or the manufacturer? (expl: how to install it, or if the customer has a question about the product after it was purchased)
    5) Do you provide basic product training? -- Just as you mentioned which vehicles will these items fit.
    6) I see that you received a neg feedback on Amazon becuase the customer received a different item then what he/she ordered. What happens in this case? Does the dropshipper exchange this, or correct its mistake, or you have to do something about it?

    Thanks!

I won't be answering the first three because I don't want to give away my supplier.

    4) Who provides product support? You or the dropshipper or the manufacturer? (expl: how to install it, or if the customer has a question about the product after it was purchased)
    Supplier as well as myself.
    5) Do you provide basic product training? -- Just as you mentioned which vehicles will these items fit
    Yes
    6) I see that you received a neg feedback on Amazon becuase the customer received a different item then what he/she ordered. What happens in this case? Does the dropshipper exchange this, or correct its mistake, or you have to do something about it?
This was handled already, for some reason they kept calling the 800 number but couldn't get ahold of anyone.
