Members

I just recently opened the site up for registration, it has 150 members and is steadily growing at 5-10 members a day. My plan was to use them for some email marketing campaign with CPA ads, selling ads...etc.

Content

I will show the new owner how to get new content. There is also a form for users to upload their own content... I will give the new owner the past uploads that I haven't posted... I have a TON of these. Plus a good 50 or so that have recently been uploaded. The site gets 3-5 uploads a day.

Revenue Details

Revenue
I've recently changed to a new ad network that I'm very happy with. I've been running their ads for 19 days now, revenue for those days is $80 (At a full month it would be in the $120/$130 range)

I did put up a CPA banner just a day or so a go that isn't doing anything, I'm sure my dazzling design job isn't doing much to help.

Traffic Details

Traffic is organic, mostly from google. StumbleUpon seems to love the site. It will every once and a while get picked up, and uniques and page views will go through the roof.

No, I am not doing stumble exchanges, or paying for this in anyway.

How much work does it take to run? Is the site banned by adsense?

One of your ads it seems is no good...I get this when I visit your site:

This web site at www.advertyz.com has been reported as an attack site and has been blocked based on your security preferences.

might want to get rid of that ad

    geldesign-
No the site isn't banned by adsense. An hour or two a month to update the site, a tad more if you want to add more content.

    802-
Yeah I've found that some peoples virus protection will go off when visiting the site due to the way the popups are served. I have brought this to the attention of the company who serves my ads, this is what they have informed me. I have no evidence that the ads are in fact harmful in anyway.

So, do you just take postcards from the original idea that has been running for years here http://postsecret.blogspot.com/ ? Or do you have a unique source? I would be interested to know.

    Hi JeffC

I was just looking at the traffic stats.
Seems there were 2 weeks at the start of May with little or no traffic.
    What happened at that point?

    The Content Guy -
Yes, that was the basis of the site, postsecret only displays postcards for a week at a time and then takes them down. I originally started the site for myself and friends, then word slowly got out, and the SE's picked up.
There is also an page for users of the site to upload their own secrets. I have well over 100 secrets that I have yet to post from user uploads, and I haven't checked the new uploads, I'm guessing there are close to 100 more.

    cuplaweb -
Yes, that was be being dumb, I changed the theme on wordpress and forgot to put the statcounter code on the new theme for a while.

    from postsecret´s site

“By submitting information to PostSecret, you grant PostSecret a perpetual, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, and otherwise exercise all copyright and publicity rights with respect to that information at its sole discretion, including storing it on PostSecret servers and incorporating it in other works in any media now known or later developed including without limitation published books. If you do not wish to grant PostSecret these rights, it is suggested that you do not submit information to this website”

my concern with purchasing is copyright, have you ever used their cards and where do we stand onthe use of postsecret in the domain name.

    hope you can help

also my other concern is posting peoples secrets for more than a couple of weeks can have legal implications surely.
especially if the other party finds out about said secret.

    anturn-

I'm not trying to hide the possible copyright issues...

The site started as a personal site for friends and family, and has grown all by word of mouth and organically into what it is now. I have not paid a cent to advertise, nor have I done any sort of promotion of the site, I'm just letting things take their course.

to your second question, no one is forced to post submit any secrets on either site. They do so on their free will. I guess having so many people see it and the chance they might be 'found out' is part of the attractiveness to submit.
