Description
Summary
Contactify.com allows users to create a personal contact form and have a URL that permenantly links to this form. It is an original service and received widespread coverage, upon launch and beyond.
Coverage
The service was featured on popular online media, such as Techcrunch, Mashable and Lifehacker, and much wider. It continues to be written about on blogs.
The site appeals to a broad audience of website owners, bloggers and social network users - anyone who doesn't want to reveal their email address to spammers - i.e. everyone!
Widget
In addition to the domain name and website, the winner of the auction will also receive the Contactify Widgetbox widget. Widgetbox currently reports over 7,500+ subscriptions and an average rating of 4/5 stars.
General
Contactify currently has had 15,989 register, with 11,546 of those registrations having been activated.
Contactify has a page rank of 4 (according to www.prchecker.info) .
You can view a screenshot of the webstats traffic at this link http://contactify.com/traffic.png.
Reasons for Sale
I am selling as I have moved on to other projects and Contactify under new ownership could be revamped to be a very successful site, given the advance already of it as a brand and the widespread coverage it hs received. It is amenable to increased promotion, increased features and perhaps even a monthly subscription fee.
The Auction
The auction includes the following:
1. Ownership of the domain
2. Ownership of the website
3. Ownership of the widget
4. 1 year's hosting from date of the auction

There are a number of potential options and whilst increasing traffic is a very strong possibility, my view is that given brand traction, initial userbase and strong media coverage, it would not be difficult to create a mini back end customer management system.
In other words, at the moment all emails are forwarded to users. This is a great free service and is good for many casual users who want to post on forums etc. On the other hand, in my understanding there are likely to be many home or small businesses that use the service, a simple back-end system (very easy to put together) that stores messages, shows who has been replied to and gives basic messaging metrics, could be a very easily chargeable system - and one likely to be appreciated by users. There is a clear contrast between the free and chargeable offering and for something like $5 a month for a basic service a tempting one as well.
In that respect, Contactify becomes a cheap starting point.
A system that charges according to level of messaging and level of features could be monetized straight away. My issue is time - I simply don't have any to dedicate to this, despite all its initial traction. Someone could really take this and make it much bigger - there's a great foundation established from where to build from.
Hope that helped answer the question.

To answer some of the questions:
It is coded in PHP and uses a MySQL backend.
Server requirements are minimals and in any event - one year of hosting will be offered free from the start date of the auction. It is currently hosted with Line3 (http://www.line3.co.uk).

It is listed as being in beta. How many known issues exist? Can you give us an idea of what type of issues there may be?
And, is there any known signup spam?
Also - what version of PHP and MySQL are required?
Thanks.

Three more questions -
How many support inquiries do you receive daily?
Have you done all of the coding, or have you contracted the work?
Do you ever encounter any spam issues, where somebody may have posted the wrong contactify link on their web page, and thus their mail is being forwarded to the wrong user?
Thanks.
Mike
