Description

I'm selling Songbook, a Facebook App I bought this summer and fixed up so that it worked better and has more options. Originally, it was buggy, but had great potential. It was hosted on a donated server from Hostgator, but required a hostagor ad on the app in return. That limited the potential growth of the app, so I converted it to Amazon S3 storage. I also fixed some bugs. The app lets users upload up to 5 MP3s from their hard drive to Facebook, and choose to display one of them on their profile. You can see the app at http://apps.facebook.com/songbook/ It has 12,900 users as of this posting. I think the app could be marketed to podcasters, or even duplicated and used a second podcasting app. One point - a small number of people have commented that they cannot upload MP3s. Two PHP programmers have looked at the app and cannot find a problem. I assume it's user error. Why am I selling? Because that's what I do. I buy sites that have potential, I fix them up, and sell them. I don't manage sites over the long term because I have learned I am a lousy marketer. Several pundits have said that Facebook apps will settle in at a valuation of $1 per user, making this a great deal at the BIN. This app requires no work on a day to day basis, so it's up to you to think about what you can grow it into over the next year (or however long you own it). If you want to get in on the massive growth of Facebook in a unique way, this app is a great way to get your foot in the door at a reasonable price. S3 Storage cost me $13.21 last month.
