Description

Online since April 2005, http://www.freerollforums.com is a poker discussion forum targeted towards newer poker players. Specifically those who are playing freerolls a lot. Therefore, it is incredibly easy to get a high level of sign ups. The forum currently has Threads: 2,499, Posts: 28,174, Members: 6,149 I have not run the site actively for more than a year however it still brings in cash through previous referrals and over $200 a month with text link ads. The forum skin is completely unique and was designed by http://www.vbulletinskinz.com/. At the time it cost around $1500 - I paid a higher fee so that the copyright link was removed. I am happy to pass on the owned vbulletin license for this forum (it needs renewed though - costs $30) Reason for Selling : I have not had time to run this for some time. All my time is spent looking after other sites I have. I had someone try and buy this a few months ago but at the last minute they pulled out (pretty much they wasted my time). The domain is hosted at enom so the transfer is free. The site is currently hosted on my server and I am more than happy to keep it hosted there for a few months or until the new owner moves it to their server I am happy to answer any questions a potential buyer may have. I would prefer if questions were asked in this sales thread and not via pm so that I don't repeat myself over and over. Of course, I will answer any questions you do not want to ask publicly. I will accept payment via escrow and direct bank transfer. I had a buyer a year or so ago reverse a payment via paypal and I lost a lot of money so as a rule I never use them now. I will split the escrow fees with the buyer. The site needs an active owner to get it back on its feet but with it being online 2 and a half years and with 6000 members and a unique skin, all the new owner has to do is push traffic to it and possibly add content. I own another poker forum which makes much more than this one so I know how profitable poker forums can be :)

Are the earnings all rev-share based? If so then the new owner would be starting at zero revenue. If you are asking $15k then you need to provide the number of daily real money signups the site is generating. That is a much more accurate picture of the current earnings level.

none of the earnings I have posted are rev share based. TLA makes the site $220 a month and pokerstars pays $75 per depositer and I get 1 or every other month with them.

The site used to have different sponsors on it and I used to host other games on it but those trackers have also been used on some other sites too so I cant confirm stats, hence I havent included them. At a guess I would say that rev share earnings from the site make me $200 a month but as I said, since the same tracker has been used at 4 or 5 different gambling sites I own I cant put an exact figure on it so I have not included them.

I dont think that the new owner would have difficulty getting sponsors. Straight away they would make $220 a month with TLA plus pokerlistings and a few other poker sites have emailed me asking to advertise (but they chose to advertise on my poker article site instead because at the time it had a higher pr).

    keep the questions coming :)

Do you get any international traffic (i.e.: Europe)? Have you ever e-mailed forum members?

I dont know the exact % of non usa players however one of the staff members set up some games recently and they had a decent number of players.

I've emailed the members before to get numbers up for a game but it's something I havent done in a long time. The forum was very active at one point with around 10 moderators and loads of regular members but I havent spent any time with it in a long time.

if theres anything else you want to know, please ask and i'll do my best to answer :)

just to remind the current bidder and any potential bidders out there, the winner will have to pay me via Escrow.com. I will not accept paypal since it's very easy for the buyer to reverse a payment after they have received the domain and site

    :)

    I also own www.texasholdemforums.com
The lowest bid I would consider is $6,000. I wouldnt entertain anything lower since the site is making me $3,000 a year without me doing anything. I'm not sure what to set a buyit now though if im honest as I'm speaking with 4 or 5 different people about the site just now and dont want to cut myself short.

pm me if you need any more info :)

To answer your 2nd question, the top searches are actually related to the domain name

    ie.

    freeroll forums
    freeroll forum
    forums with freeroll
    poker forums
    poker freeroll forums
