Selling with no reserve
Hey, this is a sale for my first website, an attempt at affiliate marketing, got the site building bit down, but failed at writing the copy to encourage people to buy. Built the site and wrote the information myself, its got something like 8 pages to attract people.
Only 1 problem with it it that it sells nothing. Spent ages making and remaking it, but it only ever sold 2 copies (which is under $50 profit, so clickbank still has my money...).
I know its a top selling niche, listed by clickbank as such, and I've got the traffic (don't ask me how, I tried with adwords and failed, somehow I've got onto google's organic list), but people come and leave and don't buy.
I know its a problem with my sales copy, fact is I have no freaking idea how to do it properly, I'm sure someone will just tweak it a bit and it will make them tons, but the fact of the matter is that I can't do that, therefore keeping it isn't going to help me, and I'm getting paranoid about having to pay for hosting again, even though its more than a year off.
Basically I've poured way too much time into this website, and I haven't even recouped my minimal start up costs and I'm sick of it, I just want out, if I keep it I'll eventually just have to pay more money for hosting. So I'm willing to let it go for whatever, so long as someone buys it, course, if you feel like encouraging a young entrepreneur, feel free to bit over $110 (my start costs).
Some other details:
I got a really good deal with Just Host when I started, hosting costs $70 every 2 years, plus I think its about $10 per year for domain name registration, and thats ongoing, so thats part of the deal here to. Oh, and that deal was for unlimited bandwidth and uploads/downloads and stuff. I'm suspicious that thats a too good deal, so I suspect that if you load it up too much it might start going slow, but I'll leave that up to you, I never managed to load it up too much.
As I said, I had a go with adwords and failed rahter miserably, spend somehtign like $60-70 on advertising and got no sales. I think I have about $40 in there... better check. Hahaha, it appears they've actually given me extra credit XD probably because I stopped all campaigns for 4 months since I was loosing money hand over fist, so there is actually $128 of prepaid adwords credit to get you going there. So I'll give you that, with the credit and all the stats and keywords I tried, to give you an idea. Considering keeping and using it, but chances are I wouldn't do much better this time either, need to learn how to do it well first. I was going to let this go at $1, but wwith that much credit in there I might put it at $30, at least then it covers my selling costs...
I think I also set it up with Adsense, which I have never checked since, so I'll give you that account as well, since its all set up and corresponds, I'll just check it first... Haha, ok, I've earned $1.88 from adsense since February, not sure if I've set it up right though, since it has only recorded 1200 views of the 3 or 4 thousand it should have. If you know your way around it you should be able to check that pretty easy.
Only other thing I can think of is my old sales page which I put a lot of effort into, its sitting in the back end as an archive, its more of your classic sales copy, so if you want to use that its there.
Oh, also I get about 300 unique visitors a month, since I've pretty much given up on this site since February they are all organic and happen by themselves, I haven't tried driving traffic or getting links or anything yet, so you can do that to boost things if you like. Just Host uses Cpanel to edit stuff, which I found really useful, so if you like that its there.
I built the website with straight html, so you can import that into any website editor you like.
Oh, and keywords, I'll give you the google analytics account linked to the site as well, it says I've got a bunch of links from google, though it doesn't say keywords, I had a quick look for a couple of the mist common ones, I'm ranked no. 12 on yahoo for the keyword 'keeping bantams' but I couldn't be bothered finding any more. But basically, I think because its been around for almost a year now, and been the same, the search bots have gone over it a lot, and its starting to become quite well known to them, so its gets random clicks from all kinds of keyword, several from 'chicken coop plans' which i was really happy about, since thats the main selling keyword, and I didn't even have to pay for it.
So I think thats about all there is to know about it, had a look at transferring clickbank accoutns so you don't have to change the links, but doesn't look like its a good idea, so you will have to replace my hoplinks with yours, other than that, please someone take this thing off of me =p And don't email me back saying how much money your making from it >.< unless you want to teach me how I guess...
Happy bidding, and Have a nice day
Revenue Details
About $40, which was ages ago, +$1.88 so pretty much nothing. Its basically a turnkey site, I might have to stay of Flippa for awhile... I don't want to see someone fixing and then re-selling this for some ridiculous sum of money >.<
Traffic Details
I chucked up a page with a few print screens so you can see, its from awestats, the Cpanel stats gatherer: http://www.keeping-chickens-ideas.com/salesstuff.html

Just actually searched 'keeping bantams' in yahoo, and this website actually came up in 3rd, rather than 12, which dodgey tool told me that...
IMPORTANT NOTE: Just added an excel sheet, and I'll put up a note-pad one too of the search stats of the keywords I integrated into my content. The 18 of them have a total monthly search volume over 300,000, and these are only a few of the keyword in this niche, which is why I say its HOT, obviously there is a whole lot more traffic there to be directed to this site. Feel free to check up on my numbers.
Would you be willing to add a Buy It Now price?
I'm quite reluctant, because I don't really know how much its worth, perhaps not much, but I'm still holding on to some hopes that it will go for something decent, so if I put on a buy it now price, I'd feel like I might be cheated out of the full possible value. The only way to fix that is put the buy it now price ridiculously high, which would be useless, so I'd rather not, unless you could give me a figure you think I should put it at that you'd be willing to pay that would make me happy, though to be honest that would probably be too high.
How many of the photos are yours and/or used with permission. I know for a fact at least three which have been 'borrowed' so I am wondering about the others as these things can sometimes cause problems :-o
Hmm yes, good question, when I put the site together I got all my pictures from google images, with the hope to replace them with photos from people who had bought the product, but since only 2 did that didn't work out. So most of them are 'borrowed' though there was a particularly professional one of a rooster crowing that I felt I needed to ask permission for and received. I have never really gotten into copywrite for pictures and such, I guess you can but stock pictures from some sites? But if you think it might cause problems then yes, that might be something you'd want to change.
Oh, I also have a facebook page with some 78 members in it, which I will also hand over control of. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Raising-Chickens/#!/pages/Raising-Chickens/140512519213?ref=ts
